UPCOMING EVENTS:

  • Free Community Ruck: Sunday 25th October, 9am, Over, Cambridgeshire

Rucking events for every level

We offer different formats to challenge your endurance, build functional strength, and enjoy the outdoors together. All sessions are structured to let you choose your own load and pace.

Community rucks

Held every other weekend, these free social rucks are open to all fitness levels. We combine walking with a backpack with catching up with others, usually finishing with a coffee stop.

Coached training sessions

Targeted coaching focusing on strength and conditioning, fast-paced weighted walks, and ruck-run intervals designed to build stamina and overall athletic resilience.

Endurance challenges

Long-distance routes, charity fundraisers, and collaborative multi-club events created to test your mental and physical limits on memorable outdoor trails.

How to join our upcoming sessions

Getting started is simple. Select your event, register your spot online, pack your backpack, and turn up ready to move. Our community rucks are always free, with route details and meeting points sent in advance.

What you need to bring

You do not need to be an experienced athlete to take part. Bring a comfortable backpack, supportive outdoor footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, and a bottle of water. If you are starting out, we suggest packing a secure weight of around 5% to 10% of your body weight. There is never any pressure to carry heavy loads or maintain an intimidating pace; every event is designed around personal progression.

Annual challenges and milestones

Throughout the year, The Ruck Club introduces special long-distance challenges, competitive events, and fundraising walks across Cambridge and surrounding areas. These events give members concrete goals to train towards and the chance to achieve something demanding together. New dates and milestone routes are published regularly on our club calendar.
